Once the queen of minivans, seen everywhere, the Chrysler Grand Caravan is now only a shadow of its former self. It's not any worse than before; in fact, quite the opposite. However, it has partially changed its name, and its price is significantly higher than in its best-selling years.

The American manufacturer's minivan benefits from several small improvements for 2025, particularly in terms of technology. The Chrysler Grand Caravan now features a new 10.1-inch screen for its Uconnect 5 system and a 7-inch screen for the dashboard. Several driving assistance technologies have also been improved.

Range and Price

There is only one version available for the 2025 Chrysler Grand Caravan, the SXT, which comes with fairly complete standard equipment at a starting price just under $50,000. For this amount, you get leatherette seats, a massive multimedia screen, a power liftgate and doors, and much more. In short, the model is fully equipped. As for options, there are only three color choices: white, which is free, red for $395, and black for $495. You can add accessories, but these aren't necessarily factory options.

Category and Competition

There are only a few minivans left on the market, which is understandable since SUVs now dominate. Minivans were popular at a time when there were mostly cars on the market. Additionally, production costs were lower, allowing Dodge, back then, to offer the Grand Caravan at a very competitive price.

Competitors: Honda Odyssey, Kia Carnival, Toyota Sienna

Design and Technology

Let's be honest, the Grand Caravan inherited the design of the old Pacifica simply because Chrysler wanted to save money. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, as the model remains very elegant and modern. However, it's unfortunate that there are only three color options and just 17-inch wheels available for the 2025 Grand Caravan.

The Grand Caravan's interior is also modern and elegant. We often forget how spacious minivans are, and the Grand Caravan is far more functional than most SUVs on the market. It also offers cutting-edge technologies, including one of the best multimedia systems currently available.

Performance

Unsurprisingly, there's only one engine option for the 2025 Chrysler Grand Caravan: a 3.6-liter V6 producing 287 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. This mechanical combination has proven itself for many years and is undoubtedly one of the most reliable in its segment. In terms of fuel consumption, you can expect an average of 12.4 L/100 km in the city and 8.4 L/100 km on the highway, which is excellent for a vehicle of this size.

Weak Points

The 2025 Grand Caravan lineup severely lacks diversity. Its base price is very high, making you want to pay the extra few thousand dollars to get the Pacifica.

Strong Points

It's a modern, elegant, and highly functional vehicle. The Chrysler Grand Caravan offers an impressive level of comfort and technology.

Signature Feature

The Grand Caravan name remains legendary, even though the model is not what it once was. For 2025, the American manufacturer's minivan stands out with its level of equipment and comfort.

Final Word

Chrysler seems to have focused all its efforts on the Pacifica, both in terms of equipment and the variety of versions. In short, the Grand Caravan would certainly need a significant revision, a price drop, and a concept distinct from the Pacifica if it wants to survive. The Grand Caravan remains a very interesting model with great qualities. Even though it's no longer as affordable as before, it remains one of the least expensive minivans on the market.
